[Premium-Rx] Cubic R-3036 dual MF/HF receiver info wanted

Thanks for the various replies. I’ll try some signal tracing and module
swapping next. I guess without an extender card that I just have to pull a
destination module to probe the coax signals. I may try making some module
extender cables if eBay turns up some suitable coax connectors.

This is my first Cubic. I have seen R-3030 receivers at various hamfests
over the years but was only slightly tempted at the usual $900-1200 asking
price. So I figured this $100 gamble was worthwhile. I get to learn about a
new design and maybe get a working receiver too.

I was perhaps overly-encouraged by my acquisition at the previous hamfest
of a $300 RF-551 preselector plus “not-working” RF-590. A few hours of
detective work and replacing a deeply buried tantalum cap yielded a nicely
functioning receiver.

Sometimes you win. And sometimes you just get a board full of DIP package
blown silicon fuses.
