[Premium-Rx] Almost premium Harris RF-550

Hi Peter.
I did something similar with a PIC to control my RA3702 dual RX and associated drive unit. By connecting the encoder outputs to 2 interrupt driven I/O lines on the PIC I was able to get an up/down count from each edge of the encoder, giving 4 times the resolution of the basic encoder without any backlash. Each transition of the encoder outputs created an interrupt, and by looking at the state of both lines and also their previous state it was possible to determine which direction the encoder was rotating.

I'm just finishing up a bunch of small repair projects and plan on doing
something similar for the PRC-104. I'll put it up on GitHub once it starts
taking shape. I've been playing with different encoder "acceleration"
thresholds. I like encoders with at least 128 PPR but sealed small ones with
pushbutton action are difficult to find. The high PPR, combined with smaller
tuning steps, gives a more analog feel.
Keith, the RF-550 is a pretty good performer and well built so I would say it's
a premium receiver.
