If the slug will not move, or, if you cracked it in your efforts to free it
up, there is one other 'cure' that has a 50/50 chance. Find a slug of the
same width and thread, and carefully screw it into the top or bottom of the
coil. If your alignment improves, the circuit needed more inductance and
just use the new slug to peak it as usual. You might want to shorten your
new slug to size so it disappears into the coil. Nothing to loose.
