I have one you can consider but I have no experience that says it will
prevent cracking.   The best advice there is to use a proper-fitting
tool and resist the urge to apply too much force, if  the slug doesn't
move forcing it will nearly always result in a vocabulary exercise!

The material is Finish Line DRY Teflon Lube, which is a bicycle chain
lube that is available at most bike stores for under $10 a bottle.   It
consists of a low viscosity hydrocarbon, synthetic oil, and teflon
particles.   I've applied it with an eyedropper so the carrier can move
the lubricants into the gap between slug and coil form.   Other than
being highly flammable it doesn't seem to have any undesirable
qualities.   If a slug has to be removed or replaced, I like to apply
some to the inside of the coil form and on the slug, really makes it
move smoothly.
