Hello Terry,
as I remember Tektronix widely used the 6DJ8 which is the standard ECC88. I certainly can't hear any difference between the ECC88 and the industrial longlife E88CC with gold pins. Maybe I visited one too many rock concerts close to the stage 40+ years ago. :-)

The audio fools go crazy about certain tube manufacturers and markings (i. e. Amperex "Bugle Boy" or Telefunken "Raute"). 

I tried ECC88/6DJ8 and even the Russian equivalent 6H1П (6P1N) in my E311 and in practical use with  neighborhood QRM could not hear any difference to the E88CC/6922.
