Hello to all on the list.
I am a new member; I have been interested in radio ever since High School ( I am now 61), and I have a collection of receivers, including classic boatanchors. but I recently have become very interested in 'premium receivers'.I bought a Norlin Communications SR-2090 a while ago. It is not working at this time, so I have been looking for information on it, to trouble shoot it and get it working again.
In all my searching on the internet, all I have found are a few other requests for information, some several years old, but no replies. Is information on these receivers, such as manuals, schematics, etc, unobtainium?
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows something about these receivers; someone who has one; has repaired one, etc. What were they used for originally, and by whom?Mine has a bad display, and before I consider buying a replacement display from Toronto Surplus, I want to be sure this receiver is worth fixing, or even if it can be fixed.Right now it powers up, and the display shows some activity, but no sound from the audio section can be heard. I know that in general, I can carefully remove the circuit boards, check for bad tantalum capacitors, and clean and reseat the connectors, and see if that does anything.
I hope this message has not rambled on too long. Thanks in advance for any help, information, or advice.
