Ah yes, thanks. I had a feeling I'd missed something fundamental.

The 2nd IF of 433kHz-ish does indeed go straight into the ADC in the DSP
module. I originally assumed there would be a third conversion stage in
that module, and only recently discovered there wasn't. (All the faults
were in the PSU and RF modules so I only took the lid off the DSP module
out of curiosity.)

I say 433kHz-ish as the 1st LO tunes in steps of 10kHz and the 2nd LO is
fixed, so the interpolation between the tuning steps all happens in the DSP.

Do many of these receivers exist? There seems to be very little info on the
web.
