One more significant difference: 31xx = Double Conversion, 32xx = Triple
Conversion...

I have a couple of CDR3130s (xx30 == dual receivers in full rack case),
which are very similar. As far as I can tell the only significant
differences between the 31xx and the 32xx are:
- Saner connectors on the rear of the 32xx: IEC mains, BNC signal, D
connectors for everything else. Mine have a sprinkling of unusual Amphenols
(even for mains in!), TNC, BNC and D.
- 31xx firmware is in EPROM, 32xx is in flash
- The appearance, spec, user interface and remote control protocols appear
to be identical. I used the 32xx manual for the serial control protocol
without problems. I use them on a daily basis. Not the best, but very
respectable receivers.
The 31xx was Cubic's first IF DSP receiver. I guess the 32xx was just a
"tidy up" of the 31xx. There is very little 31xx info out there so if anyone
has a technical manual or other tech info I'd like to hear from you.
BTW while refurbishing mine I discovered a design / manufacturing problem in
the PSUs, which caused a couple of them to blow a perfectly-formed smoke
ring and expire when connected to UK (~240V) mains. I'll put info on this
and other faults/oddities I encountered on the web, and post a pointer here,
when I get around to it.
