[Premium-Rx] STC STR 8212 HF Receiver

Hello List -

I am a new member with a small collection of 60s, 70s, and 80s Drake, Collins, Hallicrafters and Kenwood vacuum tube and hybrid Ham equipment. 

I also have an STC STR 8212 HF DSP receiver that had worked well for over 20 years but that now needs repair. I have located the service manual online (thanks to this list) and two parts units in Australia, so have a good chance of success.

Although I had a minor involvement in the production of the 8212 in the early 90s, I would be very interested in any details about this receiver that other list members, especially in the UK and Australia, might be able to provide, such as:

How many were produced? I have serial numbers 121, 133 and 140 but do not know whether the numbers began at 1 or 100.

Does anyone else on this list (other than G8MOB) have an 8212 or know of any more out there?

Is there any chance of finding the DSP and Motorola 68000 Controller firmware?

I have seen reference to a VHF/UHF version. Does anyone have any information about that?
