Actually there are a lot of differences, enough to make the UK version 
books pretty useless except for the broad outlines.  Also there are a 
few different versions of the US radios, enough to make it best to get 
the correct one.  I don't know of any source for scanned versions of the 
6217 books either, so paper copies from eBay is all I've seen in the 
last fifteen years or so, and precious few of those...
