Indeed it is, and indeed it's not!

My mistake, the VM108 was a 1kV part, so the equivalents are the 
Fairchild/Vishay DF10M and MCC/Rectron DB107 (all available from 
Mouser).  Or use 4x 1N4007, which IME will be more reliable than a DIP bridge.
