I had not thought too much of dynamotors but I do have quite a few in
radios that are sitting around here. I am one of those "troublemakers" over
on the R390 list with synthetics and WD. Oddly enough I also have a can of
AeroShell 33 and a couple others that were used on aircraft elevator/rudder
jackscrews. You may recall that there was a major issue about twenty years
ago about jack screws that failed catastrophically, resulting in the loss
of commercial aircraft. I read quite a few of those reports regarding
lubrication properties, intervals, corrosion by products (when mixed with
de-icing fluids).

Those dynos probably do need some attention. The last time I pulled the
caps off I was still using this vibrant blue colored synthetic grease.

I will not re-hash the entire synthetic and WD discussions here, it will
bore everyone to tears. You can always look up the archives on the R390
list to read every gritty (punny) detail about greases and oils. To bring
it up here might be abrasive and result in some friction between list
members.
