Thanks for sharing that very interested experiment information...Understand well. If the resistor burned deadly-no chance to recover it value i think...So we have to go an other approach:
take a look to PCB and made your own electrical circuit diagram where the defective component observed (one or two stage)...

Time wasting process realy, not ease  too, but no choice if original circuit not available... If that drawing will in fron of you possible to thinking about the value roughly...Then more accurate with some experiments in actual unit. Doing so some few times in the past...If any better idea with you- please share. Thanks in advance.

By the way-that is why my RG-5500 restoration mission
became beastly difficult! When it arrived it was electronic scrap only, without any manuals...No manuals till now (superb rarest one even in USA), but that beast in very good shape now...Later will available in Youtube...
