I just started stocking the Time Keeper IC's for the WJ-8615P. The
MK48T12B-20 goes into socket U7 on the microprocessor board A1A3. When the
lithium battery inside goes bad the receiver will not boot. This IC contains
a clock, RAM, and a lithium battery. It is a unique 24 pin DIP part that was
once made by SGS Thompson. They last for 10 years in a radio that is always
on and for 3 years in a radio that is not in use. Time, Date, and Definition
parameters are stored in this part. The radio loads this data at boot time.
If you want to know more please visit my WEB site.

The WJ-8615 does not use this part and has only one primary battery. The
WJ-8615P has two batteries, a primary RAM battery, and the one inside the
Time Keeper IC. They need to be changed periodically. Check your manual for
details.
