One more point to mention Steve.

I had a similar problem with my 3702 - very deaf but passes BITE.  I tried
all sorts of things like replacing the relay that switches between RX and
BITE.  The problem was eventually traced down to a rogue 75 Ohm BNC patch
cable that I had picked up at a rally.  The inner pin of the 75 Ohm
connector is thicker than the 50 Ohm version, and it had splayed out the
contacts on the Antenna Input connector so that the 50 Ohm cable did not
make a direct contact with the centre pin.

Hi Folks,I need to change mixer fets on a Racal RA1792 it has bsv81 type on
the circuit drawing but i noticed some posts on here before mentioning the
sd215de's being used the receiver picks up only strongish broadcasts
stations but passes bite ok i suspect the mixer, it's the later 85830 radio
with score.I was wondering if there is a superior fet replacement or should
i stick with the drawing type?
