[Premium-Rx] Harris R-2368/URR receiver LSB problem

Gentlemen,

I have a problem with my Harris R-2368 receiver, for which I have, so
far, been unable to come up with any explanation.
The radio performs normally on all modes except LSB.

When the  mode is set to USB, the BFO signal frequency at both the "BFO
Input from A11" inputs of A5 and A18 is 455.000 kHz yet in LSB mode, the
frequency inexplicably changes to 451.600 kHz, and this of course screws
up LSB demod. 

I have tried to figure out what is causing this frequency change but
after five full days of checking, measuring, and studying the manual, I
am at the end of my rope :-(

Anyone familiar with the R-2368 or RF-590A that may have an explanation
and cure for this anomaly?

Any assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
