hi Pat

Seems to be we are one of the view owning a RA1779. I do not have a 
spare transformer but I wish you goodluck in repair. My rx works great 
and was owned by the dutch coastgard. Some repair done on the keyswitch 
on front and replacing the memory battery. Because I did not have the 
FSK board I have fitted the USB filter for LSB use in the 1 Kc slot. 
Some hum (mechanical) is heard in the transformer after 1 hour use. 
Excellent 2.4 KC SSB filter.
