[Premium-Rx] Cubic 3030 - need power supply module

Doesn't the switch also do double-duty as a circuit breaker? If that memory
is correct it would mean that the power supply failed in a shorted state.

Since it is a switcher there are a handful of components within the power
supply that can cause that type of failure. I have an R-2412 and it seems
that there is a great deal of similarity across the Cubic models.
