Thank you, everyone, for your excellent suggestions. I'd like to
keep the amplifier as original as possible, and I don't want hoses
or muffler boxes projecting out the front of the amplifier; so I will
either:

1) do nothing, or

2) ...disconnect, but leave in place, the original fan, connect a box to
the exhaust port on the back of the amplifier. Install some large, quieter
fans in that box, to ~suck~ the heat out of the amplifier.  I can get the
same cfm, but it could change the airflow inside the amplifier.

Comments anyone?
