Hi Lee,

I recently dismantled the power supply in my 8615 only to find that
the problem was a tantalum capacitor on one of the other PCBs was dead
short and dragging the rail down.
From what I remember of the power supply, the low voltage side uses
standard 78 and 79 series linear regulators. I didn't delve into the
high voltage side, but be warned, the reservoir capacitors hold a
charge long after power off.
Also, the power supply is a pain to remove so before you do anything
else remove the multi-way output connector from the PSU and measure
the resistance to ground for each rail on the backplane to search for
bad tantalums.

Regards,
Oliver
