NLA parts.......

I still find it amazing that
its possible to find parts
for a 1925 Atwater-Kent radio 
but not for a 1980 National-Panasonic radio.


I used to run into this problem all the time when I ran
a consumer elex repair business.

Also a major problem was getting information out of many 
manufacturers. Some flatly refused to sell schematics.

Once a customer brung in a Sylvania portable TV set that was ~15 months old.
When talking to Philips Consumer Elec Co. 'sorry. we dont have any parts for that model'.

It was a plastic bracket with spindle for mechanical UHF tuner dial. 
I ended up fabricateing a replacement myself out of aluminum.
