The quad 8 (WJ8888) must surely qualify for premium radio status. Not a  
processor in sight (everything is done by hard logic), and alongside the  
Racal 1772 is my favourite. I have found it one of the most sensitive receivers  
in my collection - although prone to overloading on very strong signals. I 
have  the A and B versions, and I prefer the A for some reason I can't put a 
finger  on. 
I just love the idea of a token-ring type network inside a receiver !
 
I wonder what you and others think about the quad 8?
