Hi Everybody,
I just wanted to give a quick introduction and request for (any) help.
My name is Frank B., kb1qzh. I've been a ham for two years. I've
had an interested in receivers for since high school but never thought
I would end up with one of these:

When I was on vacation at the beginning of the month in Maryland, I
visited a former coworker who was selling some gear. He had a Norlin
Communications SR-2091 surveillance receiver. It powered on but
that's all I checked when I was at his place. Needless to say, it's
now mine. It does have some issues, doesn't seem to receive (just
used a telescoping whip with a N to BNC adapter) and the remote\local
button sticks. There is audio from the headphone jack. One potential
cause might be that something came loose when I drove back from
Maryland. I was going to open the chassis this weekend and look
inside.

I searched through the archives for Norlin but didn't find much.
Does anyone have any experience with the 2091 or related receivers?
Any general tips for cleaning and working on equipment like this? I'm
basically going to put it on a anti-static mat I bought at Radio Shack
and hope I don't do anything stupid.

Thanks,
frank kb1qzh
