[Premium-Rx] RA-17xx variants

Michael asked about other types in the series. With so many elephants 
around, I hesitate a little,:-) but feel safe commenting on the -73 
and 74. They must have been aimed either at marine use or for some 
kind of mobile use(!), the radiomuseum site describes them thus:

RA-1773 (RA1773): RA-1771 fitted with MA-1070A connector panel 
providing a fan and front connectors of rear sockets, all in Creeth 
Field Transit Case.
Similar receivers:
RA-1774 (RA1774): RA-1772 fitted with MA-1070A connector panel 
providing a fan and front connectors of rear sockets, all in Creeth 
Field Transit Case.

I have been wondering when someone would bring up the 
American-produced types, like 6772, 6772E(R-2130), 6778A,B,C and Q 
(remote), the latter ones Tempest qualified, and the 6778A,etc having 
push-buttons and more memories. Does anyone have the story on 
those?  And on the Canadian RA8772CB?

I could add to common failures, the LED's giving up, but fortunately 
they are 'standard issue', like HP used for instance, so easy to find.
