Gentlemen .... Gentlemen .... Please !
It looks, as if, I may have inadvertently started a war of words here
without any intent to do so.
I simply sought an answer to a problem and was astounded by the number of
list members that offered their assistance. I am very grateful to all for
the help, advice, suggestions, and other pertinent information that has been
pouring onto this machine all day. Now to Terry O`s remarks in his most
recent post. I meant in no way to demean the quality, etc. of the Watkins
Johnson receivers or any of their other equipment. If I did not respect the
caliber of workmanship, quality, and performance of said items, I would not
be staring at a WJ-8626 and a WJ-8628 sitting across the room from me right
now. I have been told by friends, that I am getting ³ too sensitive² in my
old age so I may have taken that remark about Amateur Radio Supply a little
too seriously. I have been the owner of so-called premium receivers for
years and have not had nor dabbled with a piece of store bought stuff in a
couple of decades, at least. The only names that I know or have possessed
range from Mackay to Racal, WJ, and everything else out there that is
comparable. So you see I do share your love for the good stuff and am not
a radio store shopper.
So I will go on my way and wish everyone a very pleasant evening and
thanks again for all the help. It was really appreciated.
John.
