[Premium-Rx] WJ 8718 Sythesizer noise?

How do you know it is phase noise? My 8718 had low level noise in the audio sounded like a raspy whine, turned out to be digital noise being picked up on one of the audio lines, easily fixed with bypassing.

Has anybody run into low level noise around 1 KHz?  It's above the noise floor of the receiver and can be heard with the headphones turned all the way down.  I have been told by an owner of both the MFP and non-MFP models exhibit this noise.  BTW, the noise might be higher than 1 KHz.
