I have a Drake MSR-2, rack mount, that is missing the top chassis covers.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Do you mean just the external cover or the internal module covers too in
the top of the set?
Fabricating the external cover should be easy enough, even though the
originals were folded it shouldn't be difficult to use a flat sheet with some
small brackets.
The internal covers would be a bit more tricky, especially the one over the
synthesiser with lots of holes in it, but there's some good photos in the
manual.
If you don't have the manual I can let you have a pdf copy.
The MSR2 was my first "professional" receiver, bought as faulty in the UK
at a bargain price when they were still current production but I didn't
realise at the time just what a bargain it was.
The fault was an easy fix and I part exchanged it about a year later for a
new Drake TR7 setup, got a good price but still probably nowhere near it's
true value, and have wished for years that I kept it.
Although it was very nice to use I'm not saying it was the best receiver
I've ever owned, but that's what nostalgia does for you:-)
