[Premium-Rx] Telefunken E1800/3 vs E1800

Kai --

The third edition of Fred Osterman's book, "Shortwave Radios Past and
Present," has only this notation under his section on the E1800:

"Variants: Model E1800/3 is the general purpose version."

The book's description of the E1800 does not include any reason I could tell
that would indicate what specific purpose (as opposed to general purpose)
the E1800 might have, which would differentiate it from the E1800/3.

I know that's probably not much help, but it's all I could turn up on the
receiver.

Subject: [Premium-Rx] Telefunken E1800/3 vs E1800

Dear RXers,

Helmut Singer is offering E1800s at the moment, but it is a model without
"/3".

Does anybody know the differences between E1800/3 and E1800?

Can I find the user manual and service manual on the net, or could somebody
mail them to me?

Best regards,
kai
