[Premium-Rx] Demise of NEC Semiconductors (UK) Limited

I read in the public notices section of The Times today a statutory notice 
to creditors to prove their claims in the liquidation of NEC Semiconductors 
(UK) Limited.

Is this another example of the demise of the UK's electronics manufacturing 
base?  Was it not NEC who used to make the excellent 3SK88 FET?

At least the liquidation is a voluntary members one in which there should be 
a 100% payout rather than a compulsory one, usually brought about by the 
Inland Revenue or the VAT man.
