[Premium-Rx] Harris RF-590 : Remote Control Protocol

Hi

I am the author of the G8JCFSDR Software Defined Radio,
http://www.g8jcf.dyndns.org, and I would like to add control of the Harris
RF-590 to the list of hardware which the G8JCFSDR can interface to.

Currently I take the 455 KHz IF Output from the RF-590 and feed that into
one of my SDR downconverters, an NTI DRB32, and then feed the 0~24KHz IF
into the G8JCFSDR running on my PC. This way I get a Panadaptor, fully
adjustable filters, Noise Reduction, Recording to disk. Synchronous AM
demodulation etc. But what I don't get is the ability to tune the RF-590
from the G8JCFSDR which means all the other handy stuff like Presets doesn't
work.

So does anybody have a detailed description of the Async protocol to the
RF-590 which would allow me to control the RF-590 from a PC's serial port
please ?
