My understanding (very limited) is that with an adaptive controller such
as RF-7420 (I probably have the exact number wrong) that these two units
are indeed interconnect-able and slavable. Anyone know that this idea is
incorrect?
Thanks

Sorry, but they were not intended to be connected to transceive as would
the Collins S-lines, Drake R-4 series, etc. They are beautiful pieces of
premium gear and look as though you should be able to interconnect
easily. Actually, the RF-1310 is a 250 milliwatt exciter for a big iron
amplifier. Then you use the usual T/R switch for antenna switching to
your RF-590A/R2368. You can use logic output info for mute and maybe
amplifier control. Good luck. Gilbert W4JDA
