A friend loaned me his PR 700B surveillance receiver to try out, but unfortunately he is without documentation for the receiver, other than a three page overview of a PR 700 prototype which seems to be significantly different than the B version.
Does anyone have a manual for the PR 700B? If not, is there anyone familiar enough with it to answer a few operational questions? At the moment, it seems to only function in scan mode, but the sketchy documentation, plus the front panel legends, leads me to believe that manual control via the front panel is also provided. The receiver's owner says that he recalls it working in normal, non-scan mode as well, but it has been several years since it was last powered up.
A thumbnail of the receiver is coverage from 3 KHz to 2 GHz in 7 ranges, with built-in panadapter, AM, FM, CW, USB/LSB, with built in subcarrier detector. Bandwidth selection from 3 KHz to 2 MHz. Construction looks to be in the late 1970's or very early 1980's based on the available documentation. It does not have a keypad with conventional 0...9 numeric entry for frequency, nor a tuning knob. Rather, there are four up/down keys that appear to select the frequency digits MHz, 100 KHz, etc. and a "fine tune" knob for adjustment between these discrete synthesizer steps.
