[Premium-Rx] OT - Shipping Receivers

I have had problems with foam-in-place shipping, actually, where the unit
slides forward and pries the foam apart, contacting or penetrating the box
wall. This "submarine effect" bent the fan grille on a 70-pound HP8566B RF
section that I shipped in a reused box. Definitely fell into the
could-have-been-much-worse category.
So now I tape the foam pieces together tightly to discourage them from
separating in shipment. Makes it a PIA for the recipient to open, I'm sure,
but it seems safer than just assuming that foam-in-place is a panacea for
all shipping ills.
