Pat, 

You might check with HM Customs about whether radios for amateur use 
are subject to duty. It's my understanding that used radio gear for
amateur use coming in to the US isn't (though I may be wrong), and 
HM Customs may apply the same sort of rule. I hope so, for your sake.
