My WJ 8618B upgrades are now complete. I installed a 10 KHz filter in the first IF position. Details follow.

1) I have an offer for someone looking for a 75 KHz IF filter upgrade for either a 8618B or 8617B: I have the 75 KHz filter 92230, R-18, R-20, and the 75 KHz button. You can use these parts to reconfigure any of the 724006-x boards. Parts were removed from my 8618B and are in good condition.

*Will trade for a 10 KHz button in good shape. Email me off line if you are interested.

2) The new 10 KHz filter is up and running in my 8618B. I re configured the 75 KHz IF board (724006-9) to a 10 KHz IF board (724006-1) by doing the following:

Removed R11
Replaced R18 with 100 Ohm resistor
Replaced R20 with 3.3K Ohm resistor
Replaced 75 KHz filter 92230 with 10 KHz filter 92001

Set the BW code voltage to 1.0V
Set gain
Checked the 21.4 MHz center frequency

3) My 8618B IF complement is now 10 KHz, 20 KHz, 300 KHz, 1 MHz, and 2 MHz. The radio also tunes from 0 to 1100 MHz. Usable range is 100 KHz to 1100 MHz. The radio is now a broad range sweep receiver with very good RF performance, all done per WJ documented upgrades.

Best Regards,
Steve Pappin
