[Premium-Rx] Premium-RX New Member Introduction

By way of introduction, I'm David Shurick residing in the City of Poulsbo, Washington State, USA.  

Just wanted to say hello to the group and let you know that I'm happy to be accepted.  My receivers are many and are on the high-end of the commercial line.  I'm relatively new to radio having just passed my Ham license in March 2006 as KE7GSK.  

After spending 24 years in the U.S. Navy, starting as an E1 and promoting to my final rank as a Naval Officer, I retired and have finally planted roots.  

After retirement, and looking for a job a little less stressful, I became a Police Officer.  That was six years ago and since then I've been trained by the FBI as a Hostage Negotiator and by the state as a Field Training Office for new officers.

My family comprises of my wife of 20 years who has an amazing passion for life.  She was the perfect Navy wife and mother.  With me always gone, she learned quickly how to be independent, as that is a trait a Navy Wife must possess.  Now, in preparation for my daughters eventual departure to college in a few years, she is finally taking time for herself and has just recently been accepted into a 2-year Registered Nurse program.  Being 10 years younger than me she is not late in achieving her dream of becoming a nurse.  So as she amps up in her new career, I can relax a bit and concentrate on my hobbies.

My daughter is 16 and is an amazing young lady and athletic talent.  Now, if we can just get those grades up...

So even though I started a little late in life, I'm excited about finding that premium receiver, so I'll be listening in, asking questions and researching which one to go with.
