Karl-Arne,
I would probably agree with you. I don't remember the nomenclature,
but the tube lineup with E88CC stages sounds like a winner.
Greenville had a minimum of 6 of them. Some were hard wired to rhombics aimed
at Europe and Africa, and maybe probably two were capable of
being patched at the RF input (remember, we had diversity
receivers, RCA SSB-3a) and that would require two multicouplers. There
may have been more, but I see only 6 in the front row of racks, I don't have
any pictures of the rear row of equipment in the receiver room and I just
don't remember if there were more.
I know they were still in the receiver site until we closed it down
in the mid 1990s.
