 HI Mac,

I know this is probably been checked but....have you measured the battery
voltage... If there is one on that radio. I have a 6793 but haven't powered
it up in a year or so. I don't recall recall removing the lid so I don't
know for sure if does have the battery. I also have the manual for it if
you need anything scanned, I can do it for you. I know my 6790 does strange
things when the battery is flakey.

Speaking of flakey, just last week I decided to give my 6790GM a BITE test
as I haven't done it in a while....and it failed 15. Oh man! Tried it
numerous times but same thing at the same point in the test. Failed 15,
which resulted in no SSB filters working. Well, the book says A2 module most
likely so I actually ended up starting the full alignment of the radio but
quit when I got finished the A2 board. It now works 100%. Seems the A2 board
coils were a little out of adjustment, those 4 along the left side. Anyway,
it works great again.

Keep us posted on your progress Mac.

Well some months back in a weak moment I sold my 6793 off, you know the
story, been sorry since .. so now enters another one, the seller is honest
, it does not work, the " FAULT " lite really works... because after about
5-8 seconds of applied power it LITES up ... the functions seem to work,
I.e. AM USB LSB CW FM AGC SCAN , but no action ..one of the display
segments does not fill in like if it's supposed to show a 9 its shows a 3
because of the missing segment, im presuming this is a driver problem more
that the actual display ... any starting points or hints in the right
directions ... a bit of sordid background this set came from the Atlanta
FCC field office ..more trivia than anything else .. thank you
