Hi Steve,
Something that works real good for this application are those old
switchable outlet boxes you could also put a small computer monitor on
top of. Typically, you get an unswitched outlet, a number of
individually switched outlets (computer, monitor, printer, etc), and a
master power switch. And sometimes LED indicators to indicate which
switches are on. Also, there's enough room to put your own labels over
each power switch. Much more professional than reaching over to a
regular outlet strip and switching it off. They seem to have pretty
decent AC power switches. Plus, you can put a small radio or loop
antenna on the rotating monitor platter. Sometimes you can find them
pretty cheap at a flea market. And if it doesn't have built-in surge
suppression, you can always plug it into a surge-protected power strip
tucked out of the way.
Of course, if you want a really good AC power switch, you could buy an
R-390A. Disconnect the rest of the radio from the switch. cut a hole
in the back panel and install an AC outlet wired to the power switch.
Then plug your premium receiver into the outlet. <grin>
Regards....
....Bob
