Hmmm....

I don't know about the BFO since I haven't used it (only listening to AM  
broadcasts in AM or ECSS modes), the rest is not my experience.  I do  
agree though that the 6 kHz AM filter is a "must have" (and I have it!!)   
My E-1501 seems to be rock stable within 15 seconds after being switched  
on.

I do not have the preselector (it only works above 1.6 MHz anyway, which  
is "UHF" for me who is a MW DX-er...)
