Hi Guys:

I have a Harris RF-590 receiver and it's mate, the Harris RF-1310
Exciter. They are both equipped with the remote control module
with RS-232 connectors. Somewhere there must be software that
allows you to run this equipment from a computer. Does anyone know
where to get a copy?

Also, though it's not premium, I also have a Harris RF-270-5A transceiver;
(ex: USA air force) in a 6 foot high cabinet, that I'm restoring for ham use.
It is 1 kiloWatt, SSB, CW, AM and consists of the 551A preselector,
RF 2305 rcvr/exiter, RF-110A amplifier and power supply, with all the
cables and interface boxes. It is completely remote controllable via
RS-232. Originally it was operated by a custom remote control box,
(which I didn't get), but I expect PC software must have been developed
to remote control it. Where can I get the software?

It's a shame that when this gear is taken out of service, all the manuals,
cables, accessories and software is usually lost. If anyone has software
for any of this Harris gear, or knows the comm protocal, or is working on
writing some software, please let me know.

Sincerely
Blair Batty
