Hi All,
I have repaired my 2 worst offenders with a kapton sheet between the first
and second
mixer modules A11 and A12. I suspect a ground loop is set up between the
modules when the shields touch. The first mixer has a cover to access the
SD5000 sub board that sits on top of the shield. This just touches the
shield plate on the second mixer in some receivers depending on the position
of the spring loaded side slides and the position of the soldered shield on
the first mixer. I have seen noise go from 3 bars lit on the s meter display
with the AM filter selected above 15 MHz to in the mud. The module mounting
screws must be installed for this performance level. The KISS fix.  fc
