[Premium-Rx] Rohde & Schwarz FS

Well, it's mine now. :) Kudos to John E. for shipping in record time.

This is one insanely-great receiver. It seems to combine the performance of
a premium-Rx with the usability and audio quality of a high-end Icom.
Having four IF bandwidths to choose from in a VHF/UHF receiver is really
going to spoil me.

Are there any other ESM 500 owners on the list?

I would like to find a fresh CRT for the panoramic display. This is a
really cute 2" green-phosphor tube that renders an 80-dB spectrum display
covering +/- 100 kHz relative to the receiver's frequency. Does anyone know
if they are available on the surplus market (read: cheaper than what R&S
will probably want for it?)

I was able to talk to it with my National Instruments GPIB card. I don't
suppose there's any interesting control software floating around for this
beast...?
