Mine has 4 filters, and has been "revved up" by Craig S. at KIWA. I've had
no troubles at all, and AOR UK is very good at answering queries, and providing
support. If you can find one, go for it. eBay used to carry one or two a
month, but I rarely, if ever, see them these days..........Walt Salmaniw.
Hi Walt, glad to hear you and John E have had good luck with the 7030's.
Sounds like the QC problems I have read about must have been overblown - one
problem seems to have been the main tuning knob encoders going bad or the shaft
wearing loose but hopefully those troubles were rare. Sounds like the 7030+ is a
great receiver overall. I was sorry to hear about the Drake R8B being
discontinued, it seemed reassuring to have a good American-made SW receiver product on
the market. The Drakes do seem to turn up for sale just about every other
week on eBay so there will probably be a good supply of them for a while on the
used market. I have found some wonderful premium receivers over the years
thanks to eBay. 73 Todd WD4NGG
