[Premium-Rx] Help for the Racal RA6790/GM

Dan,
An outboard preamp such as the one sold by Ten Tec

will help some. 
The Racal RA6790/GM is designed for use exclusively with 50 Ohm antennas and 
is rather persnickity when anything else is used. 
An antenna tuner such as the one designed by Arnie Coro at Radio Habana is 
very usefull.

Racal sold as an option an RF amplifier for the 6790. I think Gary Wingard 
may have one but the price will make you cry.

Hello Everyone:

I am interested to know if there are any documented mods available to
improve the performance of the Ra6790GM.
For instance, has anyone tried a preselector with this unit, or outboard
preamp?
Any help would be appreciated.
