I made up a new cable to connect my Harris RF-590 receiver to
a RF-551-A Preselector. When I couldn't get the 37 pin connector
to go I discovered a plug jammed into one of the female terminals.
I presumed it was there to "personalize" the connector to prevent
confusing the two 37 pin connectors, so I removed it. I just pried it
out with a knife or needlenose pliers. It was just a plug of plastic
pushed in.
In hindsight, I wish I'd clipped the pin instead, for the original
reasons. If anyone can tell me the number of the plugged pin
connector of J9, I'd be grateful.
If anyone has had success with computer control of the
Harris RF-590 Receiver or it's mate, the RF-1310 Exciter,
I'd be grateful to hear about it.
Sincerely
Blair
