Dear all,

    This is obviously a net so now its my turn again.
    I have been reading the mail a lot for the last few months.
    I said a few things, had an opinion or two. Today was a quiet day in the Toy room
and I had the Station {Racal 6790, Harris 590 and KWM380 with 30L-1 attached to a Cushcraft Vertical thru a TenTec auto tuner) on the air, listening. Trying the radios. Seeing what I liked today.
    I got Ergo going finally. Reset and reset and reset until bingo the puter found the radio.
Thats a wonderful thing. FIND BBC and the computer does it. Now John you need the software to do an ALE run and look for SIGNAL and ENGLISH and choose the loudest for us.
    I found the BBC by doing the Finds myself and whew around late afternoon there is a signal in a few different places. 15 was very quiet, one ZS 5x5. I think 20 was the same. Lot of nets on 40.
    So today I listened to the radios instead of emailed.
    The KWM380 has the best audio and the best speaker. It beats the tiny one in the Harris and none in the Racal. I put the Racal on a car hifi speaker and 380 is warmer.
    Its also the first damn radio that had a keypad. Long before 2K and XP were a glimmer in Bill's eyes. I have run it since it was new and it too is Premium.

    However truth be known, I am doing a lot of darn hamming swling on email that I wasn't doing 10 years ago!
