[Premium-Rx] panadapter/sdu for harris rf-590?

Hi Eugene ....

A couple of things to consider. First, what bandwidth do you have to work
with on these 455kHz outputs? I tried using an old Hallicrafter panadaptor
with a classic radio that had 16kHz max BW at the second IF. This just
wasn't enough to work with. Second, what resolution do you need your
panadaptor to achieve?

If you want to monitor even a small frequency range - say 100kHz - you'll
need this much BW into your panadaptor. If you want to be able to
distinguish signals that are very close together, you'll need resolution
better than the minimum separation.

Our founder, Doc Bailey, has a nice Icom 756PRO with the built-in real time
spectrum display. It really is a nice addition - and really shines when he
is using the Icom as the IF for a microwave setup where finding any signal
is a major challenge.
