Thanks for all the tips and suggestions people have sent to me. I found some
suitable material over at our local Home Depot. They have some nice-looking
'Camper Seal' foam tape made by MD Specialty. It is a dense 3/16 inch thick
one-sided foam tape that comes in a roll 1-1/2" wide but it can be easily cut
into smaller strips with scissors. This is just the right thickness to go inside
the filter box to cushion the plug-in filters for the Racal 6790. MD Specialty
brand also has some 3/8" thick one-sided Marine & Automotive Weatherstrip
Tape that is just the right thickness to use inside the top cover of the WJ
8716/8718 receivers to help cushion and secure the vertical cards in place. These
vertical cards are only held in place with the plug-in connectors at the bottom
and are not very secure unless they are held down under pressure from the foam
tape strips in the underside of the top cover. I would not dare try to ship
the WJ 8716/8718 without these foam strips in place. Problem solved. Thanks and
73 Todd Roberts WD4NGG.
