I was wondering if anyone might know of a substitute or replacement for the
weatherstrip-like material used in the Racal and WJ receivers? In the Racal
6790 receivers it is used on the inside of the I.F. Crystal Filter Box to cushion
and hold the plug-in crystal filters in place. In the WJ 8716/8718 series it
is used inside the top cover to cushion and hold in place several of the
vertically-mounted circuit cards. In the receivers I have, this material has long
since dried up, lost its elasticity and started to crumble. The material looks
like it came in a strip about 1/2 inch wide and about 3/16-1/4 inch thick
when new. Maybe someone knows of a good substitute for this material? Thanks and
73 Todd Roberts WD4NGG.
